YPO Promotes Development of Business and the Common Good

As CEO and co-chairman of The Waterfield Group, California-based Richard Waterfield oversees the operations of a diversified 91-year-old firm with subsidiaries involved in banking, securities, telecommunications, and other fields. Richard Waterfield is also an active member and supporter of multiple business, civic, and political organizations, including the Young Presidents’ Organization. He serves on the Orange County chapter’s board of directors.

The nonprofit YPO represents close to 30,000 chief executives involved in business in almost every country in the world. The influence of this group across multiple industries is reflected in the fact that members lead companies that generate some $9 trillion in revenue per year and provide jobs for more than 20 million individuals.

YPO has supported panels and discussions as part of its regular meetings in Davos, Switzerland, of top thought leaders and influencers in industry and government. Early in 2019, YPO sponsored a Davos panel on expanding the societal contributions of global business beyond bottom-line profits. The discussion featured the insights of businesspeople, government officials, and nonprofit leaders as they focused on cooperation among companies and other institutions with the goal of improving life for ordinary people around the world.
