Organization Inspires Business Leaders with Thought Leadership Event

As co-chairman and chief executive officer at Waterfield Group, Richard Waterfield oversees and directs asset management and investment dealings for the company. Richard Waterfield also serves on the board of the Orange County, California, chapter of the Young Presidents' Organization, an association of chief executives aimed at improving leadership worldwide. Each year, the group hosts YPO EDGE, a 2-day thought-leadership event.

Founded in 1950, the Young Presidents' Organization boasts more than 29,000 members in 142 countries. The organization brings its members together for an annual event called YPO EDGE, which explores the latest advancements and innovations in business as a way to inspire business leaders worldwide. The 2019 YPO EDGE event celebrated the idea of perpetual improvement and upgrade with a theme titled "Life of RE_".

Held in Cape Town, South Africa, 2019 YPO Edge featured speakers who focused on topics such as redesigning the business approach, reinventing lives, rethinking technology, and recommitting to learning. Futurist and venture capitalist Stephen Ibaraki addressed ways to redesign one's business approach by accessing investments in the fourth industrial revolution. Comedian Trevor Noah shared his story to inspire attendees to reinvent their lives. Journalist Manoush Zomorodi discussed ways to rethink technology by finding fresh ways to talk about it.
