Prior to beginning his career on Wall Street as a stock analyst and hedge fund manager, Richard Waterfield earned a degree in economics from Columbia University in New York City. The current co-chairman and CEO of the Waterfield Group, Richard Waterfield supports organizations that include the Republican National Committee, the Senatorial Inner Circle, the Young Presidents' Organization, and MENSA.

Since its founding in England in 1946, MENSA has become a leading international organization for highly intelligent individuals. In addition to providing a platform for social interaction and networking, MENSA members work to foster human intelligence and support intelligence-focused research.

Currently MENSA counts over 130,000 members worldwide. To qualify for MENSA, candidates must first score in the top two percent of the general population on a standardized intelligence test. The admission test, which takes two hours to complete, includes a section on logic and another on deductive reasoning. To be invited to join MENSA, candidates must score in the 98th percentile on one of the two sections.
